La Quinta California Real Estate: Take a new listing and almost break a leg?

Take a new listing and almost break a leg?

Yesterday I went with one of my agents to take a listing appointment in Desert Hot Springs on the Mission Hills Country Club Golf course. It is a very nice house. I am walking in the front door and walk forward to check out the amazing golf course and incredible panoramic mountain view. I do not see a step down to a lowered living room area and nearly fall. I am 56 years old so this really freaked me out. The tile is all the same color and I did not notice the lowered area.  I was so thankful I was ok.

We walk through the house and sit down to discuss the home in the lowered living room. Once again I stumbled but was aware and made it ok. We talked for about 40 minutes. Lawrence, the agent, was going to stay to complete the listing paperwork and I got up to leave. I had mentally told myself to be careful and watch for the step. Somehow, I really missed the step this time. I felt so lucky for good health and strong bones as my left thigh went sideways. Oh, the pain, but my leg did not break so I was so lucky. When I go home, my husband who is a retired chiropractor worked on me. With ice and ibuprofen I suffered through the night. I do feel alittle better today.

We all must be very careful as we tour homes. Each day we face obstacles and challenges. Being careful and aware can save us and our clients too. I feel I have always been careful, but obviously, not careful enough. I feel very lucky I did not get hurt worse than I did or break my leg.

be careful out there! I am an expert at finding rusty nails with my feet!

Sounds like a dangerous place!  What will the homeowner do to ensure Buyers touring the property don't have the same experience?

I think we need to mark the step somehow? Maybe red tape?
