La Quinta California Real Estate: Tips for Taking Photos of Homes

Tips for Taking Photos of Homes

Buyers love spacious homes that look like the homes are model homes or what you would see in a magazine.

1. Use a wide angle camera. It magnifies the distance between objects and showcases a room's depth.

2. Make sure the furniture does not block the views. Make sure the room is not overcrowded with furniture. Also, placing a chair or desk in a bedroom shows the room can hold more than a bed.

3. Remove area rugs. Keep the floor as clear as possible make the room look larger.

4. Use mirrors to your advantage to show more of the room. Be careful for reflections.

5. Remove clutter- probably the most important of all. People like clean and clear.

6. People like light so make the room as bright as possible.

7. Fill an empty space. An empty room seems smaller.

8. Shoot at an angle. This also helps the room appear larger.

Remember you want great photos, but do not make the photos better than house looks for real or potential buyers will run once the enter the home.

I always remember the phrase " a picture speaks a thousand words."
