1. Learn about an area- prices of all items, events in the area, who's hiring and expanding with new agents
2. Wording for other real estate flyers, ads, emails etc. The wording on Craigslist works.
3. Rentals
4. Post a listing at least 3 times a day for action. The can bring buyers for this and other homes. This also will attract potenial sellers looking for tech savvy agents
5. Open houses - inexpensive and effective way to promote an open house
6. Connect with othere services who use Craigslist for referrals - movers, cleaners, landscapers, painters, etc.
7. Search out yard sales and garage sales. Many of those people are moving and need a realtor.
8. Check the jobs section for employers hiring in your area. Many of these people taking the jobs will need a new place to live. Visit the employers through Craigslist.
9. Post listings offering your services - ie. Do you owe more than your home is worth? I have options for you.
10. Connect with other realtors posting on there about your listings or buyers. Experts on Carigslist all speak the same language.
This works and it is free except for your time. Posting consistently adn often is the key.

I use Craigslist multiple times a week. My wife is my assistant who does most of my posting, so this is helpful. I agree with multiple posts per day. When I do advertise, I also get permission from other agents/brokers to advertise for them. It is a win/win. Though I ensure I don't violate any laws while posting.. Fines are high for improper advertising, especially when advertising home loans. Most agents in my office are also Loan Officers, which is a very nice bonus! This keeps the loan in house which bumps up commissions, but also lets us have more control on the overall transaction! Overall, I agree with your Craigslist strategies...
Thanks for your comments. You are so lucky to have your wife to assist. you.
Great tips!
Thanks for the tips Lori-- We are lucky to have Kimberlee on our Team to help us keep current on Craig's List! Kathy
I was told you have to delete the prior listing before you can repost it. Are you saying you post the exact same thing 3 times a day? Any special time of the day? I am new to craigslist...
