Years ago I was at low point of my life going through a painful divorce. Each day I made sure to do something nice for someone that they did not know who did it. It sure helped me to feel better bit by bit and helped other people too.I still do this. I am finding in these times where so many people are having challenges it means more than ever. What can I do, you say? You will see as you are aware and walk through your life. Here are a few ideas. People may not even know anything has been done for them, but their life will be better because of you. How good is that! How much better would our world be if we all took alittle extra time and energy to do this each day. Here are a few things I have done.
1. Put a dinner in a bag on the door of a crabby 90 year old woman and rang the bell until I saw her coming and left.
2. Let people take the best parking space and move on
3. Let people at the grocery store who appear to be in a rush go first in line
4. Make a kind appreciative comment to clerks, security personnel, and other service workers each day
5. If I exit my car and there is trash on the ground, pick it up and throw it away
6. Write personal notes to friends and family telling them how much I love and care about them- even text and email will do
7. Take photos of people and their pets and email to them with a nice personal note
8. Sweep the porch of someone who can't. Shovel their walk. Scrape their car window. All of this is without them knowing who did it.
9. I take treats to the office for everyone, but also put someones favorite candy bar on their desk.
10. When in line, I compliment a stranger with a genuine compliment about something with them- their jewelry, their clothes, their, appearance.
These are just a few simple ideas. Part of the fun is being aware and being creative. Just doing this is positive and creates positive energy
