Riverside County is lowering property taxes on several thousand properties due to declining property values. Letters are being sent to property owners in July for the new values. If you do not receive a letter by the end of July, you can still appeal your value by filling out an online form and proving your value through homes sales in your area January - March 2010. Even a $20,000 price reduction can mean a $200+ reduction on your property tax bill. In this economy, any reduction in costs is an appreciated gift.
