So often when i meet other agents in a social setting, I hear the comment " Oh you are so lucky to have so many clients." It makes me want to scream!
Luck has absolutely nothing to do with my clients, my sales or my skills. The difference between a successful agent and a not so successful agent has everything to do with desire, motivation and making it happen. My listings do not just fall in my lap. Clients don't usually just walk in the door, and i did not learn how to be a success without hard work, time and many nights of stress and tears.
Real estate is not for the week of heart or mind! We have to sacrifice time with family and friends to build our reputation. It does not happen over night, nor is it given freely. Many times, we have to dig into our own pockets and work more often then not. We are not bankers, we don't work 9-5 with weekends off. We are 24/7 on the job either physically or mentally.
If you look around your office, you can tell who is or will be the next top producer. They spend time in the office, they work, and they are hungry for knowledge. They live and breathe real estate. They make the choice to be successful and do not look for free handouts, they earn their business. They never stop learning, and they thirst for knowledge.
Now when i am asked " How did I get so lucky?", I simply smile because I know the secret to being successful and yes i am lucky because Real Estate is my passion.
