La Quinta California Real Estate

What I Do During an Open House

Where I live in La Quinta, California, we do not get alot of people to open houses. Most of the communities are gated and allow only 1 sign. Our city ordinance does not allow signs in the medians or sides of the road. We still do open houses as each year I sell 5 - 6 houses on open houses. While I am at the open house, I do not sit and wait. I spend my time wisely to attract people to come to the open house and also to get caught up on my business.

1. I put flyers on at least 20 neighbors inviting them to the open house before the open house starts.

2. I call, text, email friends and past clients to come by the open house.

3. I post a flyer on the gate announcing the open house so people who live there and are driving in will see the open house.

4. I spend at least 15 minutes each hour outside looking for neighbors and talking to them about the neighborhood and real estate in their neighborhood. They know more than anyone else as to who wants to buy, sell, and invest in the area.

5. I write a nice note to the homeowner about their home and the open house.

6. I plan my next week.

7. I check my email and database and connect with people I have not spoken to for awhile - my best source or referrals.

8. I write my gratitude list.

9. I enjoy the silence and a few minutes to do nothing and relax - very healing.

Any other ideas?
