La Quinta California Real Estate

Differences in home in La Quinta, California and Burlington, Iowa

I am visiting Iowa where I lived for 35 years. I am so amazed at the difference in homes. In Iowa they do not know what a great room is. They do not have elevators, swimming pools. The yards are huge and beautiful and there are no gardeners. There is very little tile and even nor much granite. The back yards are open and not fenced or walled. The colors are even different- yellow, white, tan, brick and much aluminum siding. It is very interesting for me to see, The basements are so nice and add lots of extra space to the homes in Iowa. It is fun to visit family and see how differently the homes are decorated - very country look and many different colors - blue, pink, greens, tans, and rose. Most homes have 1 or 2 bedrooms. The floorsw are vinyl and carpet and some hardwood floors. They use drapes rather than blinds or shutters. Very few homes have pools. I keep thinking as I drive down the street what it must be like to show homes during snow storms and the very cold winter days. I am glad to live in La Quinta - true home and favorite place. The people in Iowa are sooooo nice, but I like the homes in La Quinta better- just my opinion.
